Sally Butcher is an independent artist, lecturer and researcher based in Birmingham, UK.
Her artwork is underpinned by an interest in female subjectivity, desire and the place of the body.
Her practice explores boundaries of gendered surfaces, particularly the spaces between the natural and the cultural, body and image, inside and out, and that which transgresses our rigid borders and can remain caught between the abject and the beautiful.
